The Kitchener Rangers have managed to get their most recent number one draft pick to sign the dotted line.
Adam Mascherin will be the newest member of the team – he is the second overall pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection.
Mascherin tells 570 News he’s excited about joining the Rangers and is looking forward helping the team win.
“Winning is the most important to me. You enjoy the game a lot of more when you are winning rather than losing. It will something I am looking forward too.”
The 16 year old determined athlete has been playing hockey since he was four years old.
“My parents put me in skating lessons and since then I was always the one crying to stay on the ice.”
Mascherin was the Greater Toronto Hockey League Player of the year, after scoring 67 goals and adding 62 assits in 61 games with the Vaughan Kings Midget team.
“My work ethic is something that I am going to bring to the team. People have asked me how many goals I plan to score, I don’t really think you can put a number on it. If you just work hard, things will just fall into place.”
