GRCA issues flood watch as temperatures rise

Grand River Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch as warm temperatures Monday and Tuesday could increase the snow melt and runoff throughout the river system.
The GRCA’s biggest concern is the risk of potential ice jams in locations such as Cayuga, New Hamburg, and West Montrose and the associated river systems.

Cooler temperatures are forecast for Wednesday which will reduce the rate of snowmelt and flow to the river.

GRCA staff will be monitoring the system and will update this watch as needed.

This watch is in effect until noon on Wednesday.
