Daylight saving time could harm driver’s reaction time

It’s a sure sign that Spring is on the way but may have some wanting to stay in bed a bit longer.

Daylight saving time is this Sunday meaning we’ll all have to move our clocks an hour ahead.

Senior Product Manager of RBC Automobile Insurance, Natalie Dupuis tells 570’s Gary Doyle show – this is time when more car accidents tend to happen since not everyone is fully awake.

“Most people think they’re great drivers and they can handle it but drowsiness does slow reaction time and with the brighter evenings there will be more cyclists and pedestrians on the road.”

Dupuis adds commuters need to keep an extra eye out for all the kids on March Break. The time change can have an effect on some for up to a week
