Police have made two arrests in connection with the armed robbery of a Kitchener variety store over the weekend.
Waterloo Regional Police say two men, aged 29 and 26, were arrested yesterday, and both face charges of robbery.
“Our investigators indicated that the help from the community was a key component in leading to the arrest of these two individuals” says Olaf Heinzel, Communications Coordinator for the Waterloo Regional Police. “We’re very thankful for the community response.”
The robbery happened on Sunday February 23rd, at the Forewell Variety Store on Lancaster Street, just before 5 p.m.
Police say two men entered the store carrying a weapon, and managed to make off with a number of undisclosed items.
At this time, the names of the individuals will not be released. Both men are in custody waiting a court appearance.
