A special weather statement has been issued for Waterloo Region and all of Southern Ontario ahead of a windy system set to blow through the area.
Environment Canada says we could be hit with winds upwards of 80 km/h in some areas this evening and overnight.
There’s also concerns flooded areas could freeze, causing icy sections on the roads and sidewalks by tomorrow morning if they’re not treated.
The weather service says we can expect the winds to ease off a bit tomorrow in the afternoon.
Drivers are urged to use extra caution on the roads tonight and into tomorrow morning.
