Google reportedly moving into Breithaupt Block

Google’s Waterloo Region operations are reportedly on the move.
Currently located in the Tannery in Kitchener, today’s Record reports it will move into a much larger space in the Breithaupt Block in Kitchener.
The paper quotes a spokesperson for Google Canada, who says the move is to “accommodate the natural growth of our engineering and development team at our Kitchener-Waterloo office.”
The Breithaupt Block is owned, in part, by Allied Properties Real Estate Investment Trust.
In a release on its website, Allied Properties confirms it “has entered into a long-term lease with a substantial tenant for approximately 185,000 square feet” in the property.
The lease takes effect later this year.
