The local Tri-Pride Community Association feels the City of Kitchener isn’t going far enough to show their support for the local LGBT community.
The City plans to fly a rainbow flag inside the Rotunda at City Hall until the end of the Winter Olympics in solidarity with LGBT communities around the world.
President Sasa Kahrimanovic joined 570’s Gary Doyle Show Wednesday morning, saying flying a flag inside, rather than outside, isn’t good enough.
“We want also a community, not only an LGBT community but the community of the cities where the flag is flying, showing that their local municipal government is supporting everyone in their community.”
Kahrimanovic plans to meet with city councilors to discuss placing a flag outside city hall.
