Waterloo man faces theft charges

A Waterloo man faces theft charges in relation to last summer’s theft of hundreds of bronze flower vases from a Whitby cemetery.

The 32-year-old man, along with a 54-year-old man from Oshawa, are both charged with possession of property obtained by crime among 10 charges laid by police.

Police say only six vases were recovered.

Investigators have determined the remaining vases were sold as scrap metal to recycling facilities.
