Inflation on the rise

Inflation moved higher last month. But it’s still low by historic standards.
Statistics Canada says December’s annual inflation rate rose to 1.2 per cent, up from November’s unusually low 9-10ths of a per cent.
The rise was largely attributable to higher gasoline prices, which jumped 4.7 per cent from a year earlier.
