10:00am- Tom Galloway, Councillor for the Region of Waterloo, Re: The Region of Waterloo’s annual budget was passed last week. Planned tax hikes for buses and rapid transit could now extend beyond 2018 and cost more. The CFO for the Region has already warned the move will be more expensive. Galloway says a decision will likely be made in March on how to make up the money. GRT will see about $831,000 cut from some routes and a restructuring of others. Staff also say there will be a cumulative impact, resulting in $23 million in planned projects being pushed out of the region’s 10-year forecast.
