Attempted robbery photos released

Waterloo Regional Police have released photos from an attempted robbery Saturday morning at a Stop2Shop variety store.

Police say a masked suspect entered the store on Highland Road in Kitchener around 2:00 AM, wielding a hammer and demanding money.

After the store clerk refused to comply, a small fight ensued, and the clerk was able to disarm the suspect.

Police are asking anyone with any information to call 519 650 8500 ext. 6397 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers 1 800 222 8477.
