BlackBerry gets investment boost from Manulife

Portfolio managers of mutual funds handled by Manulife Asset Management are investing 70 million dollars into a one-billion-dollar bond for BlackBerry.
Markel Corporation and Brookfield Asset Management both pared back their planned investment in the bond offering to make room in the deal.
BlackBerry’s largest shareholder — Fairfax Financial — is leading the debt financing, which includes Mackenzie Financial, Canso Investment Counsel and Qatar Holding.
