Six proposals submitted for The Boathouse

The City of Kitchener is zeroing in on a new tenant for the former Boathouse at Victoria Park.

Earlier this week was the deadline for those interested to file applications to the city.

The Record reports six proposals have been submitted.

Now, it is a matter of shortlisting the proposals by Monday.  At least three proposals will still be on the table.  After that, the would-be tenants have until November 15th to submit detailed plans to the city.

The city’s Director of Economic Development, Rod Regier, tells the paper that among the proposals “there are some good, solid, credible candidates.”

The Boathouse closed last month and the goal is to have a new tenant operating in the venue by this summer.
