Rangers launch 2013-14 campaign tonight

The new look Kitchener Rangers open their 51st season at home to Saginaw tonight.
570 News has the pre-game show with Don Cameron and Mike Farwell at 7pm. Mike will also take your calls on the extended post-game show after the game.
There will be a lot of new players in the line-up including goalie Tyson Teichmann. He spent last season with the Mississauga Steelheads, posting a career-best GAA of 2.77. He has also played for Erie, London and Belleville.
Farwell thinks the overager will have plenty of motivation in an effort to continue his hockey career next season.
There’s a lot of American talent on the roster again this year including Ryan MacInnis (son of former Ranger and NHL’er Al MacInnis), Mason Kohn and Nick Magyar.
“It’s a rebuilding year for this team…There’s enough talent raw talent there that the optimistic fan might look at it and say, if they can get it together, you never know what is going to happen.” said Farwell.
Farwell is predicting the Rangers will finish 6th in the Western Conference.
He adds the London Knights will own the league this season, but doesn’t see them matching or passing 59 wins as their did in 2005. They won the Memorial Cup that year and are hosting the tournament next May.
