Farmers’ Market working on temporary structure

Vendors who lost their stalls to a fire at the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market on Labour Day may have a temporary winter home as early as November.

President of Mercedes Corp., Marcus Shantz tells 570 News that they hope to have a large fabric covered barn in place this fall.

Although the cost of the building will not be as high as a permanent structure, there are still many costs that need to be factored in.

Some of the nearly 60 lost vendors have already found new places to operate in neighbouring buildings on the property.

Shantz says that the managers of the property will not be happy until they have found a solution for everybody.
