Sentencing this fall in fatal stabbing of Joe Batten

Two men will be sentenced this fall in connection with a deadly altercation in Cambridge close to two years ago.

22 year old Joe Batten of Cambridge was stabbed to death during a fight outside the Masonic Temple on Groh Avenue in December of 2011.

The fight broke out after words were exchanged inside the club during a concert.

Two Hamilton men had originally been charged with second-degree murder.

However, the two have now pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

The Record reports 23 year old Larry Seth has pleaded guilty to manslaughter while 23-year-old Wayne Moore has pleaded guilty to four counts of assault with a knife.

A youth from Hamilton still faces a charge of second-degree murder in the case.
It’s expected to be dealt with in the coming weeks.
