Today is tax deadline day

Millions of Canadians will be rushing to their computer or accountant today.
The deadline to file your 2012 income tax return is at midnight.
If you owe the government money and are late in filing your taxes, you will have to pay five per cent on the tax owing.
Meantime, a recent study by BMO Nesbitt-Burns shows more Canadians are likely to do their taxes themselves using online software rather than use a professional or friend.
The Canada Revenue Agency is encouraging people to file on their own tax return and receive their refund through direct deposit instead of a cheque.
Those who are self-employed have until June 17th to file their return.
