Ontario’s high school graduation rates up

The province’s high school graduation rate is on the rise once again.
Seventy-four per cent of students are earning their diplomas after four years.
This is the eighth year in a row that the graduation rate for Ontario high schools have increased.
Education Minister Liz Sandals said that the graduation rate increases further to 83 per cent for students who take an extra year to complete the four years of high school.
“Our investment in education are paying dividends, and we will continue to pursue innovative solutions to keep students engaged and boost our graduation rates even further.”
Sandals said it is important to track the five-year graduation rate because kids who do not graduate after four years need extra help in order to succeed.
