The casino debate is far from over in Waterloo Region.
A decision earlier this month by Woolwich Township council to move forward in discussions with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation about the potential of locating a gaming facility in that community has not done a thing to blunt the debate.
The issue will be front and centre tonight at council meetings in all three cities in the region.
In Kitchener, council will be urged to hold a public consultation into the potential of locating a casino in the city.
Delegations include Greater K-W Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Ian McLean as well as Mark Bingeman.
McLean will make a similar pitch tonight to Waterloo City council.
In Cambridge, Chamber President and CEO Greg Durocher wants city council to reconsider its decision not to hold public consultations there. However, for him to appear as a delegate, two thirds of council must vote in favour of allowing him to speak.
