2:00- Recently the feds came under scrutiny for conducting surprise house calls on Employment Insurance recipients out east. The program has been shut down, but they were investigating EI recipients in order to stop fraud. The “performance target” was to collect $500,000.
Is this a good idea/bad idea? Will something like this stop EI fraud or create bigger issues?
Should we adopt this program in Ontario?
2:30- Cormac MacSweeney, 570’s Parliament Hill Reporter, Re: More Senators behaving badly. Apologies, spending gaffes, etc. If the Senate was gone tomorrow how would this affect our lives?? What do they do nowadays anyway, besides collect a taxpayer-funded paycheck?
