The lobbying has finally paid off for some City of Waterloo residents.

Council has voted to make the Lions Lagoon splash pad at Waterloo Park free of charge.

That brings it in line with splash pads in Kitchener and Cambridge. The $2.50 fee is being waived through at least 2014.

This morning’s Record reports, the Waterloo splash pad attracts over 31,000 visitors every year.
