One day teacher strikes start

It’s a day off for public elementary school students in Stratford as the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario launches the first in a series of rotating strikes.
The job action, to protest how the McGuinty government has been dealing with teachers, affects students with the Avon Maitland District School Board as well as students in the Timmins area.
The government has agreed to allow the walkouts as long as they last only one day and as long as parents are given three days notice.
