Waste oil seems to be gaining popularity with thieves.

Two men from the Greater Toronto Area are facing charges after an alleged theft of oil early Tuesday morning in Cambridge.

Police observed a waste oil pump truck departing a closed business just before 2:30am on Hespeler Road.

Investigators believe at least two businesses on that road were targeted.

They also say there have been a growing number of these type of thefts with the value of oil increasing.

The oil can be recycled into biodiesel fuel.
