Three Canadian cities including Waterloo are part of the top 20 startup
ecosystems in the world according to a new report published Tuesday.
The report is from Startup Genome.
It ranks Waterloo at 16th. Toronto is 8th and Vancouver comes in at 9th.
Startup Genome says the days of technology startups emerging from three to four areas such as Silicon Valley and Boston appears to be a trend that’s coming to an end.
The report looks at factors such as total entrepreneurship activity, available risk capital and even access to talent.
Silicon Valley was number one on the list, followed by Tel Aviv and Los Angeles.
