Armed robberies arrest

Police made a quick arrest in connection with three armed robberies in Waterloo Region.

A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody at a residence in Kitchener early this morning, following a brief standoff.

Waterloo Regional Police Spokesperson, Olaf Heinzel tells 570 News the suspect was arrested without incident.

The latest robbery happened around 1:30am near the Sunrise Shopping Centre in Kitchener.

On Tuesday, just before 6pm there was a robbery in the area of Regina and Lodge, minutes later there was one near Lester and Hickory.

Police say in all three robberies a handgun was displayed.
