2:30pm – Police Budget
A proposed 2013 budget for the Waterloo Regional Police Service that includes a spending increase of nearly ten per cent is expected to meet some resistance. The 2012 budget was just under $126 million, but a proposed budget of more than $138-million was tabled on Wednesday. If the proposed budget were passed, it would mean a tax rate increase of nearly 2.8 per cent for Waterloo Region residents.
