Charges in multi-vehicle crash

A Kitchener man faces careless driving charges after a three-vehicle crash on King Street East near Freeport Hospital just before 9 o’clock Friday morning.

Waterloo Regional Police Spokesperson Olaf Heinzel tells 570 News the man apparently passed out at the wheel while travelling eastbound, eventually striking two other vehicles.

Heinzel says three adults and one 11 year old child were sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash closed King for several hours while police investigated.

Heinzel says it’s important all drivers are paying attention on the roads at all times, and that means getting enough sleep before getting behind the wheel.
