RIM cuts

Research In Motion may be preparing for some serious belt-tightening.
The Globe and Mail reports RIM is planning a major restructuring that will cut at least two-thousand jobs world-wide.
Reuters reports the layoffs could affect as many as 6,000.
This news follows another rough week for the Waterloo-based tech company, with the VP of Global Sales, Patrick Spence resigning and shares hitting a 9-year low.
The cuts will reportedly be announced June 1st. RIM currently employs about 17,500 workers around the globe.
The BlackBerry 10 operating system, seen by many as rim’s last stand, is out later this year.
