The Kitchener Rangers open round two of the OHL playoffs tonight against the Whalers in Plymouth.
The Rangers were eliminated by Plymouth in seven games in round one last year.
“Since we lost to them in seven games last year, no one on this team has really liked playing them…it’s definitely a bitter rivalry.” said Rangers winger Eric Ming.
570 News has the exclusive broadcast. Don Cameron and Mike Farwell start the pre-game show at 6:30.
Game two is back in Kitchener on Sunday night.
The advantage for the Rangers starting on the road is that they have played well in Plymouth this season.
Kitchener won 6-5 and the lost the other game 4-3.
Rangers centre Andrew Crescenzi says his team will have to control the play in order to have success in the series.
“We can’t let their top players have time with the puck.” said Crescenzi.
