Mostly mild so far, winter is about to bite back

It could turn out to be our biggest snowfall of the season.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Waterloo Region and much of southern Ontario.
A system developing over the American Plains is expected to track eastward tonight and overnight bringing with it a mixed bag of rain, freezing rain and snow.
Environment Canada says it will likely move into the extreme southwest this evening and then head our way overnight and continue to track eastward into Quebec.
570 News weather specialist John Wilson says indications right now are Waterloo Region could receive between 10 and 15 centimetres or up to 6 inches of heavy, wet snow.
He says it will likely be mixed at times with rain and freezing rain.
It’s expected to taper off to flurries in our area early tomorrow afternoon.
