Golf for a good cause

The St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation will benefit from golf this summer.
It’s been named the charity partner of the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic.
The inaugural tournament opens June 20th at Waterloo’s Grey Silo Golf Course.
Peter Sweeney, President of the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, says the Foundation will receive a portion of the tournament proceeds that will go towards its volunteer program and Cardiac Care Centre.
Sweeney says Manulife has been tremendously supportive of St. Mary’s over the years.
Manulife has contributed 2.5 million dollars to the centre since it opened in 2001.
