Air quality has improved drastically in Canada over the past 40 years.
According to the Fraser Institute, Canadians are enjoying the cleanest air they ever have since air-quality started being tracked in the 1970’s.
The study shows that as of 2008, all but two of the 125 monitoring stations achieved Canada-wide standards for ultra-fine particulate matter concentrations.
It also shows carbon monoxide has decreased by 87 per cent and sulfur dioxide by 80 per cent since 1974.
The institute claims the results prove some environmental and health agencies are “exaggerating” or “plain wrong” about data they use to try and scare Canadians about air-pollution.
