Impaired driving arrests

Guelph Police say some drivers just aren’t getting the message when it comes to drinking and driving.

Five impaired driving arrests were made since Friday, and Police have seen a jump in the number of people drinking then driving on weekends over the last few months.

Sergeant Doug Pflug says included in the arrests this weekend, was a man who was picked up around 8:00 a.m.yesterday.

Pflug says energy drinks, coffee, or a short nap won’t make you safer behind the wheel after a night of drinking.

Pflug says even a small amount of alcohol can affect your ability to drive safely, and if you’re going to drink, plan for a safe drive home.
