A gastro-intestinal outbreak has been declared at Grand River Hospital.
Officials say 5 patients have symptoms of a stomach virus on the north wing of its adult in-patient mental health unit at the KW site.
The hospital says a number of measures to stop the spread of the virus have been implemented including patients with symptoms being isolated and cleaning the unit.
Grand River Hospital says they’ll will review the status of the outbreak in a week.
A unit must be free of new cases for five days before an outbreak can be lifted.
Any and all visitors are reminded to wash and sanitize their hands regularly before, during and after a visit.
