WB 401 Tractor Trailer Fire

Tractor Trailer Fire causes havoc on the drive home.
At approximately 4:45pm, 570 News received many calls from traffic spotters letting us know that a tractor trailer was on fire at the Hespler Rd (Hwy 24) exit.
As a result the westbound 401 was closed for a little under an hour, followed by subsequent closures of the southbound Hespler Rd ramp to the westbound 401 for removal.
The fire caused significant delays on the westbound 401 and on the eastbound 401 as well as a number of alternate routes, including, Highway 8, Maple Grove, Sportsworld Drive, and Highway 24.
