WRP Officer charged

Regional Police have charged an eight year member of the force.
Constable Jeff Vongkhamphou of the North Division Patrol is facing two charges; Obstruct Peace Officer and Possession of Stolen Property.
Inspector Greg Lamport tells 570 News it comes from additional information found through another investigation, “Waterloo Regional Police Service had commenced an investigation into an on-duty incident that led to criminal charges being laid against Constable Christopher Knox. As a result of additional obtained through that continuing investigation, Regional Police have now charged [Vongkhamphou].”
This is not as a result of the original incident with Knox, but Lamport says “they worked together in the same division, in patrol.”
Vongkhamphou is suspended from duty and will appear in court on January 6th .
Knox next court appearance is November 23, 2011.
The investigation is on-going.
