Red wine could stop development of breast cancer: study

There could be another health benefit for women who drink red wine.

Lab tests show resveratrol, a chemical found in the skin of grapes, could stop the development of breast cancer.

The Italian study also found the same chemical in blueberries, peanuts and cranberries.

Researchers said the next step is to see if they can turn this into a new drug to help women whose breast cancer has become resistant to hormonal therapy.

The study is in the journal of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology.
