Drayton Entertainment is looking for Munchkins – no really – they are, and you can help.
If you have a child with the talent to be a Munchkin, Drayton Entertainment has an offer you may want to consider this weekend. St. Jacobs Country Playhouse is holding an open audition tomorrow to cast boys and girls in the role of Munchkins in the Drayton Entertainment production of “The Wizard of Oz”
Steve Roth is Executive Producer of Drayton Entertainment and he tells 570 News they’ll be looking for “…a passion for theatre as well as “…an excitement to be on stage.” Roth is also hoping that all the kids that come out try and have the song “Ding, Dong the Witch is Dead” memorized as they will be singing it during the auditions with the other hopefuls that show up.
Roth says they are looking for Munchkins because in this production (like the movie) “…they’re are a lot of them!”
Auditions will be held Saturday in two phases. Children between the ages of 8 and 11 can strut their stuff between 12:30pm and 2:30pm, while the 12 to 15 year-olds can audition beginning at 2:00pm. All auditions will be held at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse – located at 40 Benjamin Road.
“The Wizard of Oz” begins it’s run on November 16th and for more information on the auditions visit the website at www.draytonentertainment.com
