Liberal Party Rally in Kitchener

Hundreds of Liberal supporters gathered as Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty made a stop in Kitchener.

McGuinty spoke for about fifteen minutes at the Kitchener – Conestoga M-P-P John Milloy’s office.

“Ontarians know where you and I stand. Whether we’re moving forward together or if we’re staying on track. We have a great plan, it’s all about helping families in their homes right now and building a stronger economy that will support good jobs and fabulous public services.”

A major issue McGuinty touched on is education.

“We’re going to build sixty thousand more post secondary spaces, we’re going to build three more new undergraduate University Campuses, and this one I love, it’s out most expensive commitment but it’s the smartest investment we could make in a shared bright future, we’re going to cut tuition by thirty percent for our low and middle income families.”

McGuinty says it’s important to ensure that all people from all different incomes and backgrounds get access to post secondary education.

Some other issues McGuinty spoke about included, job creation, full day kindergarten and a tax credit for seniors.

“We’re creating a brand new tax credit, the first of it’s kind. One thousand to one thousand and five hundred dollars every year, to allow our mothers and fathers and grandparents to make renovations to their homes to make that home more accessible, more safe and more convenient for them.”

This was McGuinty’s second stop in Waterloo Region in one week.

570’s Eric Drozd was there.
