Time to slow down

Kitchener City Council is moving on concerns by residents of Glasgow Street that want something done to slow traffic along that route.
Council has passed a motion to bring in traffic calming measures to go hand in hand with the reconstruction of a section of that roadway.
The measures, which could include speed humps, are planned for 2013 and 2014.
Councillor Kelly Galloway tells 570 News by moving ahead on it at that time it could result in some cost savings for taxpayers.
Residents have long argued Glasgow is a residential road, but many motorists are using it at a throughway.
The speed limit is 40 kilometres per hour, but some studies have shown many drivers routinely top up at 60 k/ph.
The reconstruction will take place in two phases eventually covering the stretch of Glasgow from Knell Drive to Belmont.
