The home stretch for the new BC Place

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The new BC Place stadium will open for business at the end of the month.
PavCo president and CEO Warren Buckley says there are about 1,000 workers still on site. “There’s a lot of work to go, there’s no doubt about that. But we’ll be ready for everyone for the September 30 BC Lions game and the October 2 Vancouver Whitecaps game.”
“The general contractor is now starting to hand back completed work. It gives you an indication that we’re heading down the home stretch,” he adds.
“The turf is now being laid. The seats are now all being installed. There’s probably about 80 per cent of the seats in place. The scoreboard is hanging and the components of the scoreboard are being put in place.”
Buckley adds while there have been several rumours, there are still no deals for any naming rights for the building.
