Hit and run knocks out power in East Kitchener

Regional Police are investigating a hit and run involving a flatbed truck and a hydro pole.

The crash happened at Forwell and Centennial at around 5:30 this morning. According to police, the truck slammed into the pole and then continued driving on Highway 7 toward Guelph.

Police were forced to shut down Forwell Drive for awhile as crews worked to replace the lopsided hydro pole.

About 1,200 residents in the area were left without power for over an hour. Hydro officials say all power has since been restored.
