It’s all about moving forward for the football team at the University of Waterloo as training camp starts today.
The football program returns following the suspension of the 2010 season due to a steroids scandal.
Nine players tested positive for performance enhancing drugs during screening that was done in March 2010.
Head Coach Dennis McPhee tells 570 News the other coaching staff and players viewed the past year as the longest training camp in CIS history.
He says the program was still active as the team participated in six controlled scrimmages.
62 players from the 2009-10 season will be back.
McPhee says with the team not playing last year the coaches were also able to do more scouting at the high school level.
The Warriors open the 2011 season on Labour Day in London against Western.
They finished the 2009-10 campaign 3 and 5.
