Should Canada ban physical punishment for children?

The world’s newest country – South Sudan – is the 30th country to legally protect children from physical punishment.

Kathy Lynn from Parenting Today tells 570 News, despite hardships in the third world country, South Sudan is doing something good for its children.

She maintains every time we use physical force against children we increase the risk of other unintended consequences against the kids.  

Lynn says Canadians care about their children but physical punishment does not work. She says we need to focus on discipline instead.
