Snooping Parents

Future employers are not the only ones snooping profiles on Facebook.
A new poll says 55 per cent of parents track their kids on social networking sites to learn what they do and who their friends are. The poll says parents can go as far as signing onto a friends account so that they can have better access. A quarter of parents interviewed say this is the only way to know what their kids are up to.
Parenting expert Kathy Lynn tells 570’S GARY DOYLE SHOW this method of managing your child’s behaviour is not effective and sometimes parents judge too quickly. She also says that kids know when their parents are snooping. She also tells 570 News that snooping proves to children parents don’t trust them and some kids will post stuff just to see if they can get their parents going.
Lynn also says sneaking around is something parents have been doing for years and the best thing to do is to talk to your kids upfront and if you really want to know who your kids friends are, invite them over for dinner.
