Small fire at UW engineering building

Fire broke out this morning in the electronics repair shop at the University of Waterloo’s engineering building.
Fire officials say the blaze was sparked by a heat gun which came into contact with electronic equipment on a work bench.
Damage was minor and a lab technologist was taken to hospital for observation.
Fire officials are reminding the public to keep heated appliances away from any combustible materials.
