Main Street construction almost finished

Construction on Main Street in Cambridge is on schedule.

The project started on May 4th and has ripped up Main between Water and Ainslie.

Shane Murphy, the Head of the Cambridge Downtown BIA says it’s been tough on most businesses because of the lack of walk-through-traffic, but they’re excited for it all to be over. He adds, they’ll be able to enjoy those improvements when the work is finished on July 15th.

The makeover has cost $1 million and will boast granite curbstones thanks to an anonymous donor. The bulk of the money has paid for the replacement of water services, sewer repairs and road resurfacing.
