Back-to-work legislation for locked-out postal workers

Labour Minister Lisa Raitt has taken steps to get the mail moving.

She has introduced back-to-work legislation the government wants passed sometime this week.

Raitt says she’s acting in the best interests of Canadians and the economy, but hopes Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers can still reach a negotiated settlement.

New Democrats accuse the Harper government of trampling on the process of collective bargaining.

They saying Canada Post’s lock-out of employees is what crippled the mail service, not rotating strikes by postal workers.
