Happy Father’s Day!
A recent BMO poll finds a father’s role is changing in the household with more Dad’s opting to stay home with the children while Mom’s go off to work. The number of stay at home Dad’s has tripled in the last 30 years.
The results showed more men are staying home because there is more equality with the gender roles and women are becoming the top bread winner. As well, after the last recession, more men were out of work so it made sense for them to stay home rather than look for work.
The study also shows that families who choose to have one parent stay home, regardless of which parent it is, will spend less money on cars and travel.
