Canucks arrive home

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – After losing 5-2 in Game 6 at the TD Garden in Boston last night, the Vancouver Canucks have arrived home.  Their flight touched down at YVR this afternoon and they were greeted by tons of cheering fans.

People chanted, “We want the Cup” as the team walked off its charter plane.  “I just wanted to see the Canucks, show them support.  I’ve never been so excited in my whole entire life,” said one fan.

As you see at the games, Canucks are pretty creative.  We spoke with Melissa who fastened her bra to a sign that read: “[Boston] This is the only cup you will get.”

“Well, I’m currently braless, that’s a shout out for a [Kevin] Bieksa, my favourite Canuck player!”

Over 100 other fans screamed for the team as they got into their cars.  People are hoping to send the players good vibes as they get ready for tomorrow’s do-or-die Game 7.

And like you didn’t know, Game 7 is Wednesday night at Rogers Arena.  The puck drops at 5 p.m.  News1130 is your hockey station.  We’ll have Canucks updates every 10 minutes on the five’s.  We’ll also break into programming every time a goal is scored.
